Pizzeria "Dedamia" ( Mamamia )opened in 1897 . it's founders were Italian emigrants in the Russian empire Matteo Salvini and Silvio Beluscone. The restaurant became very popular in Georgian society and very soon there were competitions between Pizza and Khachapuri.  When Georgia was conquered by soviet Russia in 1921, communist revolutioneries attempted to close down "Dedamia" however they faced strong opposition by the local community. During the soviet period many famous people visited the restaurant including: Joseph Stalin,

Nikita Khruschev, Yuri Andropov and Dick Cheney.

 After Georgia became independent, Pizzeria "Dedamia" continues to satisfy the people of Tbilisi with its magnificent Pizzas!
